Aquilegia

"Aquilegia" is an original hand-cut artwork. The picture consists of two layers of paper and has a size 35.5x35.5 cm (14x14 in). The top layer is black and cut. The entire process was completely hand-done using a blade and paper. The picture is hand-cut from a single sheet of paper. The lower layer is a solid white background. The two layers are separated and not attached to each other. The pieces can be framed between two pieces of glass without the white background layer. To create this work, I was inspired by my own photograph of an aquilegia flower, which I took in my garden.
